The IFKF's Mission is to foster international collaboration and exchange of ideas between local kidney foundations and not for profit organisations to enable and help empower local Member kidney organisations to improve the health, well being and the quality of life of all individuals at threat from kidney disease.

Our IFKF family team is a strong force to bring a global focus to the prevention and treatment of kidney disease - its Council of Governors now lists 60 Members. Members represent kidney related organisation -  kidney foundations, patient associations, kidney community advocacy groups. Additionally, various associate members support our IFKF Presidnet and the Board in its work.

'Protect Your Kidney - Control Diabetes'

In 2010 our fifth World Kidney Day will focus on diabetes, the most common cause of kidney failure. World Kidney Day is a global health awareness campaign focusing on the importance of our kidneys and reducing the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide. The campaign is celebrated every year on the second Thursday of March. See how your global kidney community celebrated last year with events held in 100 countries www.worldkidneyday.org/pages/events.php
